"Plants medium-sized, usually to 12–13 cm tall. Petiole dirty purple, arachnoid, narrow, unwinged; plant base without tunic, with ± dense whitish hairs. Leaves slightly greyish mid-green, usually with scattered little brown-purple spots, often denser near the mid-vein, mid-vein purplish, blade arachnoid, oblanceolate in outline, usually 10–13 × 2.5–3 (–4) cm, pinnatisect, with 3–4 pairs of subrecurved-patent to recurved, “bird-wing”-like, linear-triangular lateral segments with broader proximal part and usually gradually elongated into long acuminate distal part, sometimes broader part abruptly narrowed, distal margin ± convex or slightly sigmoid, usually ± entire, sometimes with a few little teeth near the base, proximal margin almost straight, entire; interlobes long, very narrow, usually 0.5–1.2 × 0.2–0.3 cm, usually entire, or with a few little thin teeth, often narrowly bordered brown-purple; terminal segment ± entire, narrowly triangular to elongated-tripartite, with an elongated distal part, often with 1–2 incisions near the base, basal lobules similar to lateral segments. Scaopes brownish or purplish green, arachnoid, ± equalling leaves. Capitulum yellow, to ca. 3 cm wide. Involucre dark green, often suffused reddish, ca. 8–10 mm wide and rounded at base. Outer phyllaries ca. 12–15, recurved to ± reflexed, disrty green, at least distally suffused purplish, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, usually 7–8.5 × 1.5–2.5 (–3) mm, with a membranous border ca. ).1 mm wide, apex ± flat; inner phyllaries 12–14 mm long, apex flat. Outer ligules ± flat, striped purplish grey outside, inner ligule teeth dirty yellow to purplish. Stigmas greyish yellow-green; anthers polliniferous, pollen grains irregular in size. Achenes light greyish stramineous-brown, 3.4–3.7 × 0.8–0.9 mm, body ± densely spinulose in upper 1/3–1/4, spinules erect-patent, body subabruptly to subgradually narrowing into ± cylindrical cone 0.5–0.8 × ca. 0.25 mm; beak thin, ca. 9 mm long, pappus yellowish, 5–6 mm long.
