Description

"Plants small. Leaves subprostrate to suberect, mid-green to slightly greyish green, deeply lobed, lateral lobes usually 2–3, triangular, slightly recurved, entire or with solitary teeth or lobules, distal margin convex, proximal margin slightly concave, terminal part acuminate, acute, terminal lobe triangular. Petioles narrow, purple. Scapes greenish-brownish, ± glabrous. Outer bracts 11–13, ± adpressed, slightly imbricate or not so, ± mid-green to blackish green, ovate to ovate lanceolate, usually 4.5–5.5 mm long, 2.4–2.8 mm wide, borders ± distinct, narrow, whitish-membranaceous, c. 0.2 mm wide. Capitulum yellow, 2–3 cm in diameter, outer ligules striped grey-purplish. Stigmas pale green, pollen present, pollen grains of variable size. Achenes 3.9–4 mm long, achene body spinulose above, subabruptly narrowing to a cylindrical, 0.9–1 mm long cone, rostrum 7 mm long, pappus 5–6 mm long."
